For the fourth consecutive year, Pago los Balancines has succeeded in positioning its wines among the best in Spain and has had the opportunity to represent the wines of Extremadura at the Salón de los Mejores Vinos de España. An event at which only wines that have been considered the best wines in Spain according to the Peñín Guide 2014, the reference for Spanish wine, are shown.
This is the fourth year in which the Peñín Guide has considered the wines of Pago los Balancines the best wines of Extremadura and ranked them alongside brands as emblematic as Contador, Numanthia, Viña Sastre, Artadi, Vega Sicilia, Amancio, among others.
For Pedro Mercado, the winery owner, “these scores are a source of great pride for us and they encourage us to continue working at the most demanding levels that we set ourselves. But what pleases us most of all is that each recognition we receive is another step forward for the wines of Extremadura in the national market”.
This has been just the latest recognition to arrive in a year in which the winery has won several gold and silver medals in national and international competitions such as the Bacchus Awards, the Brussels International Wine Contest, the Decanter World Wine Awards, and the International Wine & Spirits Awards, among others.
